Our services are growing year on year. In 2008, we had 8 young people join us and in 2009 8 more joined us. Currently (Jan 2010) we have 38 people living in Manchester and 22 people living in Edgware. Additionally, as the needs of the young people we support get ever more complex, additional funding needs to be found from other sources such as grants and donations.
Langdon relies heavily on donations to purchase and improve the properties it purchases for people. Adaptations such as lifts and ramps can cost in excess of £20,000 on top of other purchasing costs.
Keeping kosher means that two sets of china, cutlery, etc. need to be purchased for each property. This is not cheap.
Donations are used to purchase properties and make these adaptations so you will have a direct impact on the lives of our young people. Additionally, providing these educational and living opportunities means that you are ensuring that these young men and women do not suffer a lifetime of loneliness, living in isolation and having limited or no interaction with the wider community - this is a truly precious gift.
All fundraising to do with Langdon Community and Langdon College is managed by our sister organisation The Langdon Foundation. So to donate please visit The Langdon Foundation Site
