Community has announced that the first Langdon Person to participate in the International Exchange Programme will be Ben Golden. Ben will be travelling to Boston in September, supported by Philip Dalton, and will work alongside staff from an organisation called the Justice Resource Institute. JRI have a reputation for providing a range of exceptional Supported Living, Residential Care and Employment services and share many of their approaches with Langdon. The International Exchange Programme has been established by Langdon to enable the Charity to learn and share examples of good practice with other support providers working in the USA, Canada and Israel.

Robert Mutch, Langdon Community Chief Executive stated, “The International Exchange Programme offers a fantastic opportunity for the Charity learn and develop new approaches and ideas. We are especially looking forward to hosting representatives from the USA, Canada and Israel over the next year. An exciting part of this programme it that it offers Landon People as well as Staff the opportunity to participate, research and feedback”.

During Ben’s exchange visit he will be working with a team of JRI staff who will be preparing a new property for their Supported Living Service. This will involve minor repairs, redecoration and furniture assembly. Ben Golden added, “I do a lot of work like this for Langdon in London and I used to work for a company that assembled flat pack furniture, I can’t wait to be able to do this in America”.

The visit to Boston will also offer Ben and Phillip time to visit some of the well know New England tourist spots as well as getting to know what it is like to live and work in the USA.
