David Moss, (Langdon Community Manchester), is currently enjoying a vacation in Israel. David had asked if we could arrange for him to visit the Nitzan Centre at K’far Saba. The Nitzan organisation is one of the Charities that Community is working with as part of the International Exchange Programme.
David’s timing could not have been better as he was able to be the guest of Nitzan at a social event organised in central Tel Aviv on Monday 4th.
David attended the event and had a great time, during which he met Rami Gertler and a number of people supported by Nitzan. The people who are supported by Nitzan at this project are of similar levels of independence of those at Langdon and they also support people with much more complex needs. Rami said after his meeting with David, “I had a wonderful time meeting David he’s a really nice guy and I look forward to introducing him to more people.”
Robert Mutch, Chief Executive for Langdon Community added, “We are working hard to establish links with organisations such as Nitzan and both Charity’s can benefit greatly from collaborative working. Langdon’s International Exchange key theme for 2008-09 is employment and enabling young people with learning disabilities to find and sustain paid work. David Moss is a great example for this programme as he works full time as a Commi Chef in one of Manchester’s top hotels, his achievements over the past five years have been exceptional."
