Ben Golden and Phil Dalton started the International Exchange Programme today, 2nd September 2008. Ben and Phil arrived at Boston Logan International Airport a little after 1pm local time, and were collected by Robert and Phillip who arrived in the area yesterday to do the final checks on the plans for the exchange.
While Ben and Phil were on their flight in, Robert and Phillip were meeting with Bob Richards, Susan Moody and Deirdre Hunter of JRI Deirdre said of the scheme: "Justice Resource Institute is proud and excited to partner with Langdon Community on this innovative International Exchange Programme. Opening up the world for workers with developmental disabilities is a visionary idea shared between us. Overcoming the barriers to making it happen has demonstrated the resource and administrative commitment of Langdon Community and its partners. Langdon Community is an organisation that sets high goals and achieves them."Ben is definitely excited to be in the New England area, once over the flight, this afternoon was spent wandering around orientating him and Phil to the area, and then out to ‘Rubins Restaurant’ in Brookline for a well earned supper before getting ready for tomorrows big start to the programme.
All of us at Langdon wish Ben good luck on the programme and extend our thanks to JRI in working with us to make this happen.
