Dave Metcalf

Senior Support Worker

Dave has been working for Langdon since March 2008. Prior to this he spent the previous 36 years working for the NHS, initially in Learning Disability institutions in the Blackburn area. He qualified as a Registered Nurse for Learning Disabilities in 1976. He undertook further training and qualified as a Registered Mental Nurse in 1980 and resumed his career in learning disability nursing. In 1988 he moved to a Community Nursing Post in Wigan on the Liaison Team with a generic role. For the last 9 years working in Wigan his remit was to identify and address people with learning disabilities health needs. Whilst working in Wigan Dave attended Manchester Metropolitan University and gained the Diploma in Community Health (2001), which also incorporated the ENB 998 and ENB 870 qualifications.
